Debra's first visit to San Diego
In 1966 I entered the third grade at the Wolcott Elementary School in Davison Michigan. Debra Melansonâs family had just moved into the school district and that was the first time I saw her. Although we were just kids it really was âlove at first sightâ although I just couldnât muster up the courage to talk to her. From that point on though I couldnât stop thinking about her. Not in the âstalkerâ sense but more âoh my GOD I donât know what to sayâ sort of way. Typical of kids at that age though really. My mother just kept telling me âOh honey, itâs nothing more than puppy-love and itâll pass.â But it never did. Ever.
Deb and I had another fun day with the chapter. This month's ride destination was the Mount Palomar Observatory. Of course we made an all day trip out of it. We left Motoworld of El Cajon around 09:30 and didn't make the summit until around 12:00. We had a nice turnout this month. 'Papa Mike' and Tara joined us along with Adam and Marry, Joe, Brian, Harold, Roger and "Tony Gomba'. Of course we took the long way home, got back around 16:30 or so...
Round trip... only 210 miles... but what a GREAT day!
For any of you who don't already know, I started on a new adventure April 2, 2018. A dear friend of ours had been asking me for months to submit a resume to the company where he works and so I finally did. Then next thing I knew I was being interviewed and then offered a possition! For the first time in my entire working life I seem to have gotten into a company that not only preaches "Team Work"... but really means just exactly that. It's turning out to be the best place I have ever worked. Yesterday they held an "Employee Appreciation Day" where they seved up BBQ'd hamburgers and hotdogs... and lot of good converstation.
Just a few photos from the event... sure was a lot of fun...
Well it's been quite some time since Deb and I have been able to take a nice leisurely ride on the motorcycle. But after the previous eveningâs event we really needed to get out and forget about it and just enjoy the day with some good friends. The ride destination this time was out to the Desert View Tower near Jacumba, CA. Although weâve been there multiple times over the years, itâs always fun to go see it again and the ride as fantastic. If youâre looking for an excuse for a good ride to get out of the city⦠this is a good place to go visit.
